Izamal

Izamal is known as "The Yellow City" because of all of the yellow buildings that are there. All of the students were troopers and climbed the pyramid! The view was gorgeous! Well worth the work!
At the top of the pyramid!
The convent we visited.

Chichén Itzá

Today we spent a wonderful day at two places. Chichén Itzá was first! It was so overwhelming to see all of the Mayan ruins. We loved our tour guide. He spoke Mayan and Spanish! It was a hot day, but we were able to buy lots of handicrafts from the people that were selling them around the ruins. Many of the students even bargained for a cheaper price! Well done!
Using flowers to "paint" the wooden handicrafts. Here is what the finished product looks like!

Next stop...Izamal for more pyramids!!!!

First day of deportes!

Every Tuesday we have a field reserved for us at the sports center near the school. We played soccer and even had a few local "professionals" join us!

Clases de Canto!

Mondays the students have a class of Canto (singing). It's a lot of fun! Today they learned two new songs: "El Pescador" y "Quiero darte un beso". A few of the student even volunteered to help with some instruments! So fun!
