Uxmal and Loltún

Uxmal is an ancient Maya city of the classical period in present-day Mexico. It is considered one of the most important archaeological sites of Maya culture, along with Chichén Itzá, which we visited last week. Yay for more pyramids! The nice part about Uxmal, was the students were able to actually explore the pyramids and they had a few hours to do this. Uxmal had a lot more trees and we were happy in the shade! It was a beautiful day!

Next stop for us was Loltún. Loltún had more ruins and we were in a cave for about three hours. Today was a very hand-on day because we actually got to go inside the cave and explore so much! We got a little dirty, but it was worth it!
